Robert Lübsen) from Dec 1942 to Feb 1944, where most of his practical combat experience took place over 4 war patrols.
He attended commander's course from Mar to Jun 1944. Günther Keller commanded the type VIIC boat U-981 from 28 Jun to 12 Aug 1944.
He underwent U-boat Familiarization (Baubelehrung) at the 7th training unit (7 KLA) from Oct 1944 to Jan 1945. Günther Keller commanded the new type XXI Elektro boat U-3521 from 14 Jan to 2 May 1945. No war patrols. He was taken POW and detained, eventually freed on 28 Jul 1945.
