fix(adapter-ppg): read and write list columns - #30887
With @prisma/adapter-ppg, list columns could not be read or written.
Reads. The PPG client only parses the column types it is given parsers for. Since the adapter passes its own list, it replaces the client's defaults. The text-family, uuid, integer, float, bool, inet and cidr arrays had no parser, so a String[] (and an enum list, selected as ::text[]) came back as the raw literal {a,b}, and the data mapper failed with e.map is not a function.
Writes and filters.convertArgs ran every argument through String() regardless of arity, so ["a", "b"] went out as a,b and Postgres rejected it as a malformed array literal. This affected has, hasSome, equals and every create or update that sets a list.
The fix registers a parser for every array type that fieldToColumnType reports. Each element is normalized the same way as its scalar type: booleans go through normalize_bool, and the rest stay as strings, which the data mapper already accepts. List arguments are sent as quoted PostgreSQL array literals ({"a","b c",NULL}). Each element is converted with the existing scalar rules, and quotes and backslashes are escaped. Scalar arguments are unchanged.
The name type error mentioned at the end of the issue (Unsupported column type id 19) is a separate problem and is not part of this PR.
Testing performed
vitest run src/conversion.test.ts in packages/adapter-ppg: 36 passed.
The 10 new tests fail on v7 without the change, and the existing scalar behaviour test passes on both.
One test checks that every ArrayColumnType has a parser, so a future array type can't silently come back as a raw literal.
The parsing tests cover text, varchar, bpchar and uuid arrays, quoted commas and spaces, NULL elements, numeric arrays and boolean arrays.
The argument tests cover lists of strings, quotes and backslashes, NULL elements, empty lists, and int, boolean and datetime elements.
tsc --noEmit shows no errors in adapter-ppg.
Not run: an end-to-end check against a real Prisma Postgres database. I don't have one available.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
PostgreSQL array values now support additional types, including booleans, integers, floating-point numbers, text-like values, UUIDs, and network addresses.
List arguments can be serialized as PostgreSQL array values. Null and empty elements are supported, and quotes and backslashes are escaped correctly.
Scalar argument conversions continue to work as before.
The PPG client parses only the column types it is given parsers for, and
the adapter had none for the text-family, uuid, integer, float, boolean,
inet and cidr arrays, so those lists came back as the raw literal
("{a,b}") and the data mapper failed on .map. List arguments went
through String(), so ["a","b"] was sent as "a,b" and rejected as a
malformed array literal.
Register a parser for every array type fieldToColumnType reports, and
send list arguments as quoted PostgreSQL array literals.

Explanation
Issue [#30778] requires two things: (1) list columns, including String[] and enum lists, read back as arrays; (2) list arguments sent as array literals for create, update, and has/hasSome/equals filters.
Read path: builtinParsers in packages/adapter-ppg/src/conversion.ts now registers normalize_array parsers for BOOL_ARRAY, INT2/INT4/INT8/OID, FLOAT4/FLOAT8, TEXT, VARCHAR, BPCHAR, CHAR, UUID, INET, and CIDR arrays. The reviewed head fieldToColumnType maps each of these array OIDs to a column type. Every array OID that fieldToColumnType reports now has a parser. Enum lists selected as ::text[] map to TEXT_ARRAY and are parsed. The BOOL_ARRAY parser uses normalize_bool.
Write and filter path: convertArgs now detects Array.isArray(arg) && argType.arity === 'list'. It converts each element with the scalar rules in convertArg and serializes the result with toArrayLiteral. That function emits NULL for null elements and quotes other elements, escaping backslashes and quotes. Scalar arguments reach convertArg with the same switch cases as before, so scalar behavior is unchanged.
Not covered by this PR and excluded by the PR and issue: the name (OID 19) Unsupported column type id error.
Unresolved uncertainty: no end-to-end run against Prisma Postgres. The PPG client handling of array-literal text parameters was not verified from repository evidence. The PR test file diff could not be read at the reviewed head, so test content relies on the PR description and summary.

Explanation
The whole-PR diff against the merge base changes packages/adapter-ppg/src/conversion.ts only. Its changes are: (a) list handling in convertArgs; (b) extraction of the scalar switch into convertArg, which the list path reuses; (c) the toArrayLiteral serializer; (d) new array parser entries in builtinParsers; and (e) the identity element normalizer. Each change serves issue [#30778]. No unrelated production behavior, name-type handling, or other package changes were found. The PR also adds tests in conversion.test.ts. Their content was not readable at the reviewed head. The PR description describes them as tests of the same functions, which supports the implementation.

Major · Add dynamic parsing for custom PostgreSQL array OIDs at the PPG parser… · conversion.ts:333-348
packages/adapter-ppg/src/conversion.ts:333-348 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Add dynamic parsing for custom PostgreSQL array OIDs at the PPG parser boundary.
builtinParsers contains only exact built-in OIDs. A custom enum-array OID therefore remains a raw PostgreSQL array literal in @prisma/[email protected]. The schema-aware mapper then calls .map on that string for a non-null enum-list field, so enum-list reads fail.
Fix this at packages/adapter-ppg/src/ppg.ts, by using a PPG parser hook that handles user-defined array OIDs and converts their literals with the existing array parser. The public PPG parser API currently accepts exact ValueParser.oid entries, so this requires dynamic OID registration or a PPG user-defined-type parser callback. Adding another fixed entry to builtinParsers cannot cover dynamic enum OIDs. The driver-level parser also covers enum-list results; no caller change is needed.

Thanks for flagging this. I checked it, and I don't think it applies to queries Prisma generates. When an enum column is selected, quaint's Postgres visitor casts it: get_column_cast_target returns text for enum columns, and visit_column appends [] for lists. So an enum list reaches the adapter as "col"::text[] with OID 1009 (TEXT_ARRAY), which this PR now parses. A user-defined array OID only shows up when a raw query selects the column without a cast, and that result doesn't go through the schema-aware mapping that calls .map. This matches @prisma/adapter-pg, which only parses user-defined types through the opt-in userDefinedTypeParser. Adding something similar to adapter-ppg would be a separate feature, so I'd rather leave it out of this PR.
