While executing missions, the semi-arcadey running and gunning mixes nicely with the vibrant exploration elements in Hajin and the rapid fire Dynamic Objectives and side ops, creating a delightfully high-tension experience that also doesn’t get too sweaty. All of the other things around it – crafting, gunsmithing, and to a larger extent the almost RPG-like skill trees for individual operators – provide little incentive to engage with them all that rigorously. This may not bode well for DMZ’s staying power as a “service” across the coming year, but in the present, it’s a strong addition to the growing list of worthwhile extraction shooters."

EA is facing financial pressure due to the $18 billion debt it took on during the Saudi buyout. The company then only had enough budget to back one big sci-fi game, and they chose Star Wars Battlefront 3 as the safer bet. In other news, Gears of War: E-Day has moved only 400,000 copies across Xbox and PC, a relatively low number for a marquee franchise. The Verge is reporting that Game Pass is the cause of low sales, as the game was a Day One launch title for the service. And finally, Assassin's Creed Valhalla is getting a New Game Plus update six years after the game first dropped. Ubisoft says more updates are planned.
