Support Independent Space Journalism
Spaceflight Now has been an essential source for live coverage of the space program since its inception in 1999. Your donation keeps our coverage sharp, fast, and independent.
Donate nowWe strive to deliver concise and accurate launch coverage from our news bureau at the Kennedy Space Center, with professional commentary and high-quality video and audio.
With more than 170 launches from U.S. soil in 2025, there has never been a more exciting time to be following the space program. With Artemis 2 having flown around the Moon in 2026, Starship beginning orbital flights, and other launchers not far behind, Spaceflight Now is gearing up for unprecedented coverage on the Space Coast, and our ability to expand our coverage of the global space race.
But this unprecedented growth in rocket launches also presents the Spaceflight Now team with some challenges. In order to scale our multi-camera productions for the surge in activity, we need to update and upgrade our equipment to continue bringing you the best possible coverage.
Our coverage has long been powered by the support of our viewers and readers, and we are now offering a direct way to contribute to our efforts through this page.
How Your Support Fuels Our Coverage
Here are examples of how contributions directly strengthen our reporting and production.
- Data StorageWe expect to archive more than 96TB of launch footage this year. A typical Starlink launch alone can cost about $15 in storage needs. Contributions help fund the NAS systems and solid-state drives that power our growing archive.$15
- Field Ops—PowerWe are standardizing our field setups by replacing aging power systems with more modular, compact solutions. A donation at this level helps fund a professional V-mount battery used to power our equipment in the field.$200
- Internet RedundancyReliable internet is essential for our 24/7 streams and live launch broadcasts. This funding strengthens network redundancy between our KSC studio and remote camera locations along the Space Coast.$1,000
- Field CoverageDelivering the strongest reporting often means going where the story is unfolding. Travel, lodging, and field expenses allow us to bring you firsthand coverage from launch sites and industry events. A single reporting trip, such as a NASA Crew event in Houston, can cost $1,000–$1,500.$1,500
- New 4K CamerasMany of our primary cameras are now more than five years old. Upgrading ensures reliability and sharper images during live broadcasts. A donation at this level helps fund professional 4K camera bodies and lenses used in the field.$3,000
- 4K UpgradesWe are enhancing Launch Pad Live to full Ultra HD. Upgrading switching and production hardware allows more detail to reach your screen.$5,000
- Tacos & Caffeine for the TeamOur small team works hard to bring you the very best in coverage. Additional funding directly supports our reporters, production crew, and photographers.Priceless
